"Practical Guidance" Presentation

DENVER- November 20, 2008. Bill Smith, CEO of Leading Edge Process Consultants LLC, was awarded "Best Presentation" at the NDIA (National Defense Industrial Association) CMMI Technology Conference and User Group, held here November 17-20.

Mr. Smith's presentation, Using CAR to Rescue a Sinking Process Improvement Program, was given first prize in the Practical Guidance category. In a rousing 45-minute talk, Mr. Smith outlined his spearheading of the use of Causal Analysis and Resolution (CAR) for a client organization (1) to identify root causes with its process improvement program, and (2) to develop solutions addressing those root causes. Use of CAR was instrumental in the organization's speedy attainment of Maturity Level 3 (16 months from their initial exposure to the model).

Mr. Smith refused to comment on whether the shirtless Brad Pitt photos included in the presentation had been specifically placed there to woo female voters.

This NDIA CMMI Technology Conference and User Group brings together managers and professionals for the purpose of advancing the state-of-the-art in process improvement, in order to reduce cost and schedule, and improve quality. The next conference will be held in Denver, November 16-19, 2009.
