DENVER- November, 2010. Bill Smith, CEO of Leading Edge Process Consultants LLC, was awarded Outstanding Presentation at the NDIA (National Defense Industrial Association) CMMI Technology Conference and User Group for the third consecutive year.

Mr. Smith's presentation, "What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger: My Process Improvement Lessons Learned," was awarded Outstanding Presentation in the CMMI and Process Improvement track. In an inspiring 40 minute talk, he detailed his top 10 process improvement lessons learned -- dating all the way back to when he still had use for a comb!

In 2009, Smith won a similar award for "Creatively Applying the CMMI for Services in a Very Small Company," when he described his adoption of the CMMI for Services, one portion at at a time, in his own company.

In Mr. Smith's first year at the conference, 2008, he was awarded Outstanding Presentation in the Practical Guidance category for "Using CAR to Rescue a Sinking Process Improvement Program." In this talk, he outlined how Causal Analysis and Resolution (CAR) was used in a client organization to (1) identify root causes of problems with its process improvement program, and (2) develop solutions to successfully address those causes.

This NDIA CMMI Technology Conference and User Group brings together managers and professionals for the purpose of advancing the state-of-the-art in process improvement, in order to reduce cost and schedule, and improve quality. The next conference will be held in Denver, November 2011.
